Detroit City Council Member, The newly revised City of Detroit Charter (Sec 7.5) requires the City Council to create an Office of Inspector General and appoint an Inspector General for the City of Detroit. Detroit's history has been riddled by corrupt and abusive behavior by governmental elected officials and appointees who have squandered Detroit's resources for their own selfish gain. An Inspector General for our City has the potential to eliminate waste, fraud and abuse within our government, making those who are elected or appointed to serve us accountable for their actions. I am writing to urge all City Council members to ensure that this Office is implemented as soon as possible to save our City further loss of money, funding and opportunity for our future.
