Detroit Elected Officials, The newly revised City of Detroit Charter (Sec 9-405) requires all branches of Detroit city government to prepare and issue a redundancy report entitled "Report on Elimination of Redundancy", detailing methods to increase efficiency in their departments. Detroit City Government has been guilty in the past of inefficiencies that have cost taxpayers millions of dollars in wasted money. This required addition to the Charter is an excellent step toward more effective and responsive city services. I am writing to urge you to ensure that this Charter initiative is implemented by the date required and done so in a thoughtful and effective manner.
